New Zealand-based performance fibre developer TMC has secured certification under the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) for its Nuyarn spinning technology.

Nuyarn’s specially designed machinery drafts merino fibres along a high-performance filament, resulting in two-ply yarns with more volume and aeration.

RWS certification means the company can offer assurance to customers and consumers that the wool it uses comes from farms with high standards of animal welfare, of land management, and of social welfare for workers.

TMC has said this covers the entirety of its textile manufacturing operations, from farm to fabric, and performance wool products in apparel and footwear that use the material.
