Support from 3M for UTMB event in China
Materials developer 3M is one of the sponsors of the 2024 Ultra-Trail Mount Yun series of races in China, which take place from April 19-21.
These events are part of the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB) trail running circuit. The series now comprises more than 40 events around the world, giving runners a taste of the original UTMB event, which has now been running for more than 20 years.
Athletes who excel in these regional races can quality for the UTMB World Series finals.
For the Mount Yun event, which has four separate races, 3M has contributed financial support, plus its Thinsulate Anti-Static mid-loft insulation material for use in official race apparel, and its Scotchgard Protector treatment for towels and shirts.
“The athletes competing in UTMB are among the most disciplined, awe-inspiring runners in the world,” said 3M portfolio director, Melissa Blakely, in the build-up to the Mount Yun races. “We’re thrilled 3M innovations are going to be there to help them perform at their best.”
