3M showcases performance at winter games in China
Materials developer 3M showcased its protective apparel technologies as part of a sponsorship of the X-Games China, held at the Beidahu Ski Resort in Jilin.
Its Thinsulate Insulation and Scotchgard Protector provided insulation, water resistance and durability in jackets used by athletes including Ge Rong, who advanced to the X-Games final run.
The warmth and water-repellent protection of the technologies were used in ski vests, Thinsulate-insulated hats were worn by both athletes and spectators, while a range of convertible insulated bags doubled as scarves.
Melissa Blakely, portfolio director for 3M Thinsulate and Scotchgard, said: “This incredible community of athletes represents the pinnacle of passion, skill and resilience. We are proud to support their journeys with gear that redefines performance in the most demanding environments.”
