ISPO Academy masterclass explores new outdoor jacket possibilities
Students from nine different design schools in Europe and Asia took part in an ISPO Academy masterclass event during the recent edition of the exhibition in Munich.
Materials developer 3M co-hosted the masterclass and used the occasion to promote its Thinsulate Flowable Featherless Insulation.
Design and trends expert Nora Kuehner, who launched the ISPO masterclass initiative in 2015, said the students who took part this year liked the new 3M lightweight, high-loft insulation material, which is made with 80% recycled content.
“Most outdoor jackets look very much the same,” Ms Kuehner said. “We want to engage more young sports design students from the best design schools globally to work together and identify the future direction of the industry and explore more possibilities for consumers.”
