WFSGI makes chief executive appointment permanent
The World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI) has made Emma Zwiebler’s appointment as its chief executive permanent. She took up the role on an interim basis in November 2023.
A former sports lawyer and international badminton player for Scotland, Ms Zwiebler joined the WFSGI six years ago as its vice-president for strategic and external affairs.
At the start of this year, when the WFSGI published its fourth annual sporting goods industry report, Emma Zwiebler described the problem of inactivity, especially among young people, as “human climate change”. She later explained this idea in detail in a conversation for the Dialogue section in issue two of WSA.
On becoming permanent chief executive, she said: “I’m excited to lead the WFSGI through our next phase of growth and plan to double down on our priorities (environmental, social and governance, and physical activity) with our members. Together we make a strong collective to work towards reducing our impact on the planet and inspiring more people to live active, healthy lifestyles.”
