New creative director for Champion Europe
Maurizio Donadi has been named creative lead for Champion Europe, starting December 1st. Based in Los Angeles and Italy, the designer has worked for Giorgio Armani, Levi’s and Ralph Lauren before founding his atelier, Transnomadica, which draws on his extensive personal archives of vintage apparel and objects.
“I am honoured to partner with Champion, a brand that I love, admire, respect and collect,” the designer said.
Champion Europe CEO Lorenzo Moretti commented: “We are confident that Maurizio will not only honour Champion’s unrivalled heritage but will also redefine the brand’s position within the sports and lifestyle sector. This appointment marks a significant step forward as we continue to push the limits of innovation and authenticity in every aspect of our business.”
HanesBrands, the former owner of Champion finalised the sale of the brand to Authentic Brands Group this past September. Sales in Europe, the Middle East and Africa are managed by Champion Europe, based in Carpi, Modena.
