Increase in PET plastic recycling capacity
Revalyu, a company formerly known as perPETual, has announced a $100 million investment plan to expand its PET recycling capacity at its industrial site located in Nashik, India. The factory now has two plants running: an older one that processes 40 tonnes per day, and a new one with a 160 tonnes per day production capacity.

As part of the investment plan, construction has begun on a third recycling facility that will add another 120 tonnes per day of PET chips and polymer in late 2025.

Once finalised, revalyu’s Nashik site would have a total production capacity of 280 tonnes, processing approximately 35 million post-consumer plastic bottles daily.

The company has patented a glycolysis-based technology that produces 100% recycled speciality chips and textile yarns and is said to use 75% less water and 91% less energy than conventional PET made from oil.

revalyu Resources, the name of the company since German group Heraeus took a majority stake in 2022, has also announced broken ground on a new factory in Statesboro, Georgia. This is a $200 million investment for a plant expected to process 240 tonnes daily, or 90,000 tonnes yearly, by 2027.

With the help of partners, the company seeks to achieve a global capacity of 1000 tonnes per day by 2030.

revalyu Group founder Dr. Vivek Tandon commented: “This is a revolutionary moment for the PET plastic recycling industry.  Finally, the world has a commercially proven, scalable, profitable and environmentally sustainable recycling technology that can truly reverse engineer used PET plastic into virgin grade quality PET polymer. I cannot thank our team, customers, shareholders and suppliers enough for their hard work, trust and support.”
