Clariant now PFAS-free
Anticipating upcoming bans on PFAS-based formulations, Swiss chemicals company Clariant has announced that it has phased out all PFAS-based solutions from its portfolio since last December.

As part of this commitment, the company has introduced Ceridust 8170 M, a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)-free texturing agent for powder coatings that it claims offers superior performance with lower energy usage compared to conventional PTFE-based products.

Another new product, AddWorks PPA, is a range of polymer processing alternatives that is said to offer efficiency while ensuring compliance with regulations.

The company expects to expand its offering of PFAS-free launches in 2025.

“The PFAS-free additive portfolio is the result of years of dedicated research and collaboration with our partners,” commented Stefan Brejc, who heads the coatings & adhesives segment for Clariant.
