Biomaterial developer Spiber has announced that one of its partners, Italian textile mill Botto Giuseppe, will showcase a polo shirt made 100% from a worsted yarn that the mill has developed using Spiber’s Brewed Protein fibre. It will present the polo shirt at Pitti Filati in Florence from January 28–30.

Botto Giuseppe began working with Spiber in 2023. It is the first European mill to develop and bring to market yarn made from 100% Brewed Protein fibre.

Other yarns the partners have developed together include blends of Brewed Protein, in proportions of between 20% and 50%, with cashmere. This range of yarns is now available commercially.
