New dyehouse promises Südwolle better delivery times and efficiency

Wool and wool blend worsted yarns developer Südwolle Group has formally opened a new dyehouse in Vietnam.

This newest part of the group, called Ninh Thuan Dyeing Textile Company (NDT), located in Vietnam’s Ninh Thuan province celebrated a formal opening event on April 9 and 10. Operations commenced there on March 24.

Südwolle described this as a strategic expansion that “underscores the company’s commitment to creating real value by fostering innovation and collaboration along the textile supply chain”.

It explained that setting up NDT would allow it to offer customers an integrated supply chain in Vietnam. It already has a worsted spinning mill there, Da Lat Worsted Spinning (DWS), located in the neighbouring province of Lam Dong.

With a dyehouse close to hand now, the group said customers benefits will include reduced delivery times and improved production efficiency.

It said NDT is equipped with high-level dyeing technology, designed to ensure high-speed and precise processing while minimising physical impact on the fibre. There is also automatic dosing technology.

It also said the dyeing cycle at NDT will deliver a 30% reduction in water usage and a 20% decrease in power consumption compared to earlier dyeing technology. It attributed these savings to an innovative water-flow system that uses smaller pumps.

The initial production capacity at NDT is 2,000 tonnes per year, with plans to scale up to 4,000 tonnes per year in a second phase of development.
