European fabric manufacturers prepare for MarediModa Miami
Presenting themselves as top-tier alternatives to Asian producers, a number of European fabric manufacturers will take part in MarediModa Miami.
The Miami edition of the specialist beachwear fabric event will run from May 31 to June 2. It will take place as a component of the Cabana Show, which, in turn, is part of the bigger Miami Swim Week fashion event.
European fabric collections can stand out in this arena for their creativity and quality, the organisers of MarediModa have said. But, depending on how ongoing tariff talks go, they may also prove easier for US companies to source than Asian products.
In the build-up to the Miami event, MarediModa president, Claudio Taiana, acknowledged that there is “a climate of extreme uncertainty” affecting the global supply chain, but he said he thought European fabrics can become “increasingly appreciated” in light of the high level of tariffs the US has imposed on many of its trading partners.
Companies from Italy and Spain are taking part in MarediModa Miami and will try to seize the opportunity created by the current geopolitical landscape.
