Drying equipment was the cause of Teijin factory fire
Fibres group Teijin has shared the details of an investigation into a fire at its aramid plant at Delfzijl in the Netherlands in August.
The fire broke out on August 6 and was extinguished within two hours without any injury to the people who work at the plant or in the surrounding area. The company has said the investigation has flagged up no adverse environmental impact.
Teijin has said the investigation has identified a problem with drying equipment as the cause of the fire. This equipment is machinery the factory uses to dry raw material for the production of aramid fibres.
It said production had begun again at the factory on August 20 and that it expected the impact on its results for the financial year ending March 2026 to be minor.
