New manufacturing partner for Loomia
US-based smart textiles specialist Loomia has announced it has formed a new manufacturing relationship with Molex, an electronics company based in Illinois. This agreement will allow Loomia to expand its manufacturing capabilities, adding global reach and advanced production quality.

The company’s main product, the Loomia Electronic Layer, is an electro-textile component that can used to integrate smart functions and sensors to apparel or any textile-based element (in the automotive sector for instance) such as heating, antennas, switches or lights. The technology does not rely on printing which makes the components more stable without requiring a plastic casing. 

Loomia is based in New York and was founded by Madison Maxey in 2014. She will be delivering a keynote at the 2025 e-textiles conference in Roubaix, France, on November 13.
