Didriksons scales up its use of novel nylon
Swedish outdoor brand Didriksons has launched its first commercial styles made with EcoLactam, a nylon solution with a reduced carbon footprint.
The polyamide has up to a 70% lower carbon footprint than conventional nylon thanks to investments made by its maker, Fibrant, to optimise the production process for caprolactam, from which polyamide is made.
Per Odqvist, chief sourcing officer at Didriksons, said: “Moving from a pilot to commercial products is a crucial milestone.”
Giovanni Henssen, Fibrant’s head of business development and sustainability, told Sportstextiles about EcoLactam for our feature, ‘Nylon in many shades of green.’
