Didriksons embraces low-impact nylon
After a successful pilot test last year, Swedish outdoor lifestyle brand Didriksons is introducing Fibrant’s low-impact nylon EcoLactam on a broader scale in its collections. The innovative polyamide has up to a 70% lower carbon footprint compared to conventional nylon thanks to investments made by Fibrant to optimise the production process for caprolactam, from which polyamide is made.

Didriksons is introducing the novel polyamide in its most commercial and volume-driving products in its spring/summer collection 2026, with further scale-up planned for the autumn/winter 2026 season. The EcoLactam fabrics used are laminated to a waterproof and breathable membrane that delivers 15,000 mm water-column protection.

“This has been a great collaboration built on shared goals and mutual trust. We started small, with one jacket, and are now scaling up step by step. With partners like EcoLactam, we can move our entire industry forward and actually make a real impact,” commented Per Odqvist, Chief Sourcing Officer at Didriksons.
