The Italian warp knit specialist introduced its first recycled nylon fibres in its Sensitive Fabrics range. These are made from a blend of post-industrial and post-consumer waste.
A new washing machine and the phasing out of traditional printing in favour of digital printing and has enabled the company to cut its water consumption nearly by half, from 507 l/kg in 2023 to 280 l/kg in 2024. The photovoltaic panels on its production site in Caronno Pertusella, near Milano, generated 541,897 kWh of electricity in 2024, covering 5% of its energy needs. Methane gas consumption was down (by 25,000 cubic meters) as well as packaging waste, leading to savings of some 6 tonnes of cardboard tubes and 4 km of plastic film.
Social responsibility is just as important for Eurojersey. The company has expanded welfare initiatives for its employees, and collaborations with schools and universities to support tomorrow’s textile professionals.
“We believe that only through a systemic approach is it possible to generate lasting impacts and redistribute value fairly and sustainably along the entire textile-apparel value chain, which is required to implement true change,” commented Andrea Crespi, Eurojersey general manager.
