New acquisition and product launch for Kornit

In a move to expand its on-demand printing services, Kornit Digital has acquired PrintFactory, a colour management and production automation software company based in the Netherlands. This addition to the digital printing specialist’s roster is expected to strengthen platform dedicated to scaling on-demand production.

While demand for digital printing grows, Kornit said that the transition from traditional processes to digital manufacturing is far from smooth. Companies are faced with various challenges such as managing complex workflows, coordinating multiple technologies, streamlining connectivity within IT environments, and maintaining consistent production output across different production lines. PrintFactory's technology addresses these gaps, it said.

PrintFactory’s customer base includes 10,000 active users, including Kornit customers, and its technologies support some 3,500 models printing and cutting devices. Under the new ownership, it will continue to operate from its headquarters in the Netherlands and continue to support its technology-agnostic platform. The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2026, terms were not disclosed.

In other news, Kornit has announced the launch of a new device, Atlas Matrix, which can print on a wider array of fabrics made from cotton, polyester and blended fabrics. This is made possible, said Kornit, by the company’s Karbon Shield technology, a protective layer that prevents dye migration.

“Screen printing can deliver strong results on polyester, but requires long setup times, multiple process steps, and additional costs to control dye migration and maintain consistency. Digital solutions, including earlier generations such as Atlas Max Poly, did meaningfully expand the boundaries of what’s possible, yet performance on polyester depended on fabric type, process tuning, and operational complexity. Atlas Matrix removes these limitations entirely, opens a massive market opportunity, and firmly positions digital as the new standard for apparel production,” commented Kornit Digital CEO Ronen Samuel.
