Unifi sees continued momentum

Polyester producer Unifi has released its financial report for the fourth quarter and fiscal year ending June 28, 2026. The year was marked by “clear momentum”, as noted chief executive Eddie Ingle, citing “meaningful improvement in profitability and cash generation”.

The Greensboro-based group saw net sales grow 4.1% in the fourth quarter, attributed to strong sales in Brazil, while demand from Asian and American customers remained tepid.

Revenues for Repreve, the group’s recycled polyester brand, accounted for 28% of sales in the fourth quarter, bringing in $40.2 million in revenues. Adoption of Unifi’s T2T fibre platform, REPREVE Takeback and ThermaLoop Insulation, is slower than expected, stated Mr Ingle in a conference call. “We remain confident that we have the best circular fibre solution on the market,” he noted.

Full fiscal year sales were down 7%, at $531.3 million, but showed improvements in gross margins and significantly in debt, thanks to past and ongoing real estate transactions to streamline company operations.

In the coming fiscal year, Unifi said it intended to invest in innovation.
