Dryarn certified dermatologically tested

11/04/2008

Dryarn – the polypropylene microfibre produced by the Aquafil group – received the 'dermatologically tested' certificate after two years of research conducted at the Dermatological Clinic of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. This means its microfibres cause no unpleasant effects to the body, especially for people with very sensitive or problematic skin.

The study involved approximately 200 volunteers with sensitive skin and was split into three phases of skin tests to find out whether any allergies were triggered by the microfibre.

In the third stage, volunteers were asked to wear clothing made exclusively from Dryarn day and night for a month. The aim was to evaluate the effects on ailments such as erythema, xerosis, vesiculation and desquamation.

At the end of the test, the company claims all patients expressed a positive opinion in terms of tolerability and comfort of the clothes and moisture management. It also reports that some patients suffering from dermatitis or itchy skin noticed an improvement in their condition at the end of the test.
