The company won bronze in the Energy/Sustainability at the Edison Awards 2014 in San Francisco, US, while it was named University Spin-Out of the Year at the New Energy & Cleantech Awards in London.
The UK-based company has developed a late-stage prototype for a domestic washing machine and is also developing the process for leather processing and other applications.
Jonathan Benjamin, president of Xeros North America, said: "Polymer bead cleaning is the first real innovation in the laundry industry in more than 60 years. It is revolutionising an entire water and energy dependent industry, enabling it to become greener, less dependent on our natural resources and to have minimal impact on our environment."
