Icebreaker hire reflects increased focus on Europe

Icebreaker, a New Zealand-based merino wool apparel company, has hired Benoit Gazagnes as country manager for France and Spain in move that highlights its increased focus on Europe.

In this newly created position, Gazagnes will be responsible for developing Icebreaker’s wholesale strategy and integrating global retail and ecommerce plans. He will be based at Icebreaker’s newly expanded office in Annecy, France.

“Benoit brings more than 20 years of brand management in Europe to Icebreaker. From general to specialised distribution, he always succeeded in settling strong and long-lasting business relationships with the partners and customers,” said Max Hofbauer, Icebreaker’s general manager for Europe.

Icebreaker produces merino clothing for the outdoor, technical sports and lifestyle industries and is sold in 44 countries.
