Adidas unveils World Cup ball

Tested over a half year period involving more than 30 teams in 10 countries, the technology incorporated into the bladder and carcass is identical to the UEFA Champions League ball. However, a new structural innovation with six identical panels and a different surface structure will provide improved grip, touch, stability and aerodynamics on the pitch, said the Germany sportswear company.
The ball has been named ‘brazuca’ following a public vote in Brazil involving one million football fans; The word means ‘Brazilian’ or is used describe the Brazilian way of life.
Adidas is forecasting record revenues from the event and for which is has also launched Nitrocharge boots and a 630g kit. It is going head to head with rival Nike in the battle for sales.
