Freudenberg announces spunlaid improvement project

Nonwovens producer Freudenberg is to upgrade its spunlaid production; footwear is one of the application areas the company believes it will be able to serve better.

The company is investing several million euros at its production sites at Durham, North Carolina, and Kaiserslautern in Germany. Both investment projects relate to “the further technical development of existing lines” but will enhance product quality, Freudenberg has said.

It said it was going ahead with the development because of demand in its target markets, including footwear, for higher-quality materials with improved performance properties.
