The aim of the competition is to show that sustainability is a key part of innovation. It will also give talented young designers the chance to meet important figures from the European clothing industry.

The two most innovative outfits from each school will be chosen for the final, to be held in Verona, Italy on September 13. An international jury of fashion design experts, opinion leaders and journalists will select the most sustainable design concept in three categories: innovation, technology and design.
Each winner will receive a prize of €2,000. At the final, they will have the opportunity to talk with key players in the fashion and sports industry.
Ulrich Scherbel, Freudenberg general manager, said: “For us at Freudenberg, innovation and sustainability belong together. The way that the competition connects with our customer event in terms of theme and timing is a perfect opportunity to bring together innovative young designers and the clothing industry.”
The date and venue of the final have been chosen to match a customer event Freudenberg is holding in Verona on September 14. It will be attended by around 600 guests and will feature a panel discussion on the topic of sustainability as a driver of innovation.
