The head of sourcing for Italian outdoor brand Napapijri, Bhavesh Naik, has said that its use of comfortemp thermal insulation material from Freudenberg in a new parka has saved one kilo in weight compared to similar products the brand has produced using down.

Speaking at ISPO in Munich on February 6, Mr Naik said that the new product, the Superlight, weighs 1.24 kilos in the men’s large size. He told sportstextiles that lightweight garments are “here to stay”, that people’s busy lifestyles, moving from the office to public transport to social settings means consumers don’t want to be encumbered with heavy garments.
