Freudenberg hands out sustainability competition prizes
02/10/2018
The company invited students from fashion and design schools across Europe to submit their designs for sustainable garments. A total of 45 students from 23 European fashion and design schools took part.
The two most innovative designs from each school were selected for the final round and they presented their projects to an international jury in Verona, Italy in September. The jury then selected the most sustainable design in three categories: innovation, technology and design.
First prize in the “Design” category went to Mazo French Lorena from the Esmod fashion school in Lyon, France. Nuria Costa and Ane Castro from the Spanish fashion institute Esdi were awarded first place in the “Innovation” category, while Andrea Piva from the Italian school Naba won in the “Technology” category. All winners received a prize of €2,000.
To coincide with the final ceremony, Freudenberg organised a customer event to give the students the opportunity to network with international representatives of the apparel industry.
