Freudenberg’s performance materials division has developed new solutions for its medical product portfolio using antimicrobial PU foam.

The foam developments are the result of Freudenberg’s acquisition in January 2015 of UK company Polymer Health Technology (PHT), a specialist in hydrophilic polyurethane foams for advanced wound care.

In the Freudenberg application, foam absorbs wound exudate and helps create an ideal environment for wound healing.
