Cooling technology company Coolcore has promoted Kevin McCarthy to CEO and appointed Donna Flood to chief operating officer to drive its expansion beyond the athletic market.

Coolcore, which launched in 2011, spent two years developing its Dr Cool ice and compression wrap, and received Hohenstein accreditation last August.

“Kevin’s entrepreneurial background and experience leading the expansion of young companies, coupled with Donna’s operational expertise, is a great asset to us as we enter our next phase of growth,” said Dennis Ackroyd, Coolcore founder and chief technology officer.

Prior to Coolcore, which he joined in 2012, Mr McCarthy served in senior executive positions at KOAR, Power Balance, Perry Ellis and LA Gear.

Ms Flood was previously chief operations officer for Easton Bell Sports (EBS) and president of their Giro and Easton cycling brands. Prior to EBS, she spent 15 years at Reebok in positions including global head of apparel product development and vice-president of European operations.

Coolcore is now developing its technology for the industrial workwear segment.
