AAFA executive vice-president Steve Lamar said: "Philip has been an instrumental partner as AAFA carried out its mission in Washington over the past year," said. As a fourth-generation apparel and footwear business leader, Philip brought great vision, and we appreciate his service to our organisation."
Mr Helfenbein is a strong advocate for a robust US trade agenda and lectures on the subject of supply chain and international trade at universities around the country. He participates annually in the Consortium for Operational Excellence in Retailing at Harvard University and the Wharton School of Business.
He said: "The US apparel and footwear industry moves at rapid pace, so it's essential our trade association stay ahead of the immense challenges before us. We must encourage Capitol Hill to rise above partisan gridlock and work to help us maintain our competitive edge in the global marketplace.”
