New innovative textiles showcase from Techtextil organiser

A new platform for innovative textiles and processing technologies is being launched at next May’s Techtextil and Texprocess, which organiser Messe Frankfurt hopes will firm the link between the two events.

The Innovative Apparel Show will feature 30 items of clothing from German universities and fashion schools that organisers describe as "groundbreaking".

Olaf Schmidt, vice-president of textiles and textile technologies at Messe Frankfurt, said: “We are not putting on a fashion show in the classical sense, but we want to offer visitors and exhibitors at both fairs an unconventional platform where they can allow themselves to be inspired as well as exchanging views. We want to bring together processing technologies in the treatment of clothing with technical textiles, nonwovens and other flexible materials."

The concurrent shows will run from May 4 to 7 in Frankfurt.
