Record numbers at Intertextile Shanghai

28/11/2014

Organisers of Intertextile Shanghai have said the recent edition of the clothing expo saw record exhibitors and visitors.

A total of 3,844 exhibitors took part, 2% more than last year, while 71,138 visitors from 93 countries attended the fair – a 3% rise on last year.

Wendy Wen, a senior manager of the fair, said: “While it was pleasing we set new records this year, which proves the fair’s continued importance to the global industry given the sluggish economy at the moment, what was also satisfying was the quality of both exhibitors and visitors here this week.

“Exhibitors were encouraged to see a large number of quality buyers from big European and American brands, while many reported an increase in new customers from growing markets such as Russia, the Middle East and Southeast Asia.”

The 23rd China International Fashion Fair, CHIC, will be held concurrently with the spring edition in March.
