The wool area at Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics will be 40% bigger at the next show, reflecting increasing demand from Asian consumers.

The Premium Wool Zone will house high-quality wool suppliers from France and Italy, as well as a large UK contingent including Abraham Moon & Sons, Taylor & Lodge and Alfred Brown.

Wendy Wen, senior manager of fair organiser Messe Frankfurt, said: “The fair is well-known for its scale, it attracts a large number of buyers from around the world who are sourcing quality, premium products.

As the Chinese economy becomes more consumer driven, the demand for high-end fabrics from domestic buyers has increased in tandem, but there is also a large number of overseas buyers who also value the ability to source from Europe and Asia in the one place.”
