‘New way of communicating’ - Toray joins ISPO’s consumer feedback tool
Japan-based textile maker Toray is has joined the ISPO Open Innovation platform, which uses a bank of consumers to test products before they go into mass production.

The Toray range, from brands Bergans, Haglöfs and CEP, includes base layers, mid-layers and hardshells.

Cep said it wanted to be involved as it is moving into a new product category and receiving early consumer feedback will help the market launch.

Steffen Meiler, head of marketing at Toray, said: “The consumer and retailers request to be more deeply involved with brands and their product creation than in the past. This direct feedback helps Toray to create new products and bring innovation to the market faster and expand our technology leadership.”

Tobias Gröber, manager of consumer products at ISPO organiser Messe München, said: "We have succeeded in establishing a completely new way of direct consumer communication for the sporting goods industry in just 12 months. The innovation partnership with Toray proves that our offer is being accepted and that it works. We are looking forward to exciting projects with a high degree of participation."
