Sports apparel remains a key area for X-Static

X-Static works by permanently bonding silver ions to the surface of fibres to create yarns that “work continuously” to eliminate bacteria. Speaking at a press conference at Techtextil on May 6, Mr Keane said that eliminating odour from sports clothing is “one of the basic benefits” of this technology.
“Consumers expect sports apparel to look good, be sustainable and fit their lifestyle,” he continued. “Our technology can help because it allows them to wear the same garment all day and to have repeated uses between washes without any problem.”
As well as working with ingredient brands such as Toray and 3M, Jeff Keane said Noble Biomaterials is also working directly with yogawear brand Lululemon on apparel developments that use X-Static.
