Polartec hits milestone and names European Apex winners

US textile firm Polartec has hit a milestone – it billionth plastic bottle turned into performance fabric.

The company said: “We couldn't have reached this goal without the help of many designers, engineers, activists and consumers dedicated to creating a better future of fabric.”

It has also started to name this year’s Apex winners (from brands that use its fabrics) on its social media channels.

From Europe, it has highlighted Crazy Idea for its JKT Neo Again jacket, Sportful for its Fiandre Extreme NeoShell Jacket, adidas for its terrex SkyClimb Top, Dynafit for its Alpha PTC Jacket and Pant, and Rip Curl for its Quest Anti-Polar Shirt design.

It will name the winners for North America on Facebook on July 23.
