US-based textile group Polartec has launched its first cooling fabric, Polartec Delta, which is inspired by the design of car radiators.

The fabric is constructed of a base layer that provides wicking capabilities, reduces skin cling, regulates drying and is breathable, without any chemical treatments.

“Delta makes working out, running or doing anything in a warm climate in a wet cotton t-shirt a thing of the past. The fabric helps athletes stay in that ‘Just Right’ zone where they can maximise their performance without overheating,” said Polartec’s senior vice-president of operations, Doug Kelliher.
