Gerber enlisted to help modernise Mauritius’ apparel industry

The Mauritian government has invited software provide Gerber Technology and COMESA (the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa) to set up a training programme for apparel makers in the country.
 
The aim is to increased use of software solutions for apparel pattern making to promote advances in quality control, collaboration with partners and better efficiency.
 
The initiative is financially supported by the regime of the 10th European Development Fund (EDF), issued by the European Union.
 
Mauritius Business Growth Scheme (MBGS) spokesperson Naeem Boodhoo said: “Choosing Gerber Technology for technical assistance for CAD training and the capacity building program is based on the broad presence of Gerber’s digital systems and the excellence of services provided to a growing number of apparel manufacturers in Mauritius.

The project will last for six months, after which, Gerber and local representative Automated Garment Technology will provide classroom training sessions.
