Taiwanese company creates bike pedals from rice husks

Taiwanese company Chien King Industrial (CKC) has created a bike pedal from rice husks that reportedly emanates a sweet rice aroma.

Once considered a useless byproduct of rice cultivation, the material has been found to be durable, and once processed it can be used to create products that require extra toughness.

According to CKC, the product fulfils the requirements of the Bio Preferred label of the US Department of Agriculture.
