Allied announces new fluorocarbon-free down treatment

Down and down blend manufacturer Allied Feather & Down has announced a new water-resistant down treatment that uses a proprietary treatment based on natural wax.

As a result, the California-based company says it has been to eliminate fluorocarbons “without sacrificing performance”. It has called the new technology HypderDry Eco.

The result of “years of research”, Allied has said HyperDry Eco is 30-40 times more hydrophobic than untreated down and uses 25 times less water.
