Hanesbrands wins EPA excellence award

HanesBrands has been recognised by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for the seventh consecutive year.

The apparel group was again named as the winner of the partner of the year award by the EPA Energy Star Programme for continuing to excel in relation to energy conservation, carbon emissions avoidance and environmental sustainability. It remains the only apparel company to be honoured by the Energy Star programme since it was established by the US government in 1992.

“We are honoured to earn another partner of the year award, and the credit goes to each of our more than 65,000 worldwide employees who are committed to the cause of energy management and environmental responsibility,” said Javier Chacon, Hanes’ chief global manufacturing operations officer. “We are proud of our achievements as a leading global apparel company.”
