Algeos to present O&P products at OT World

Medical products distributor Algeos has collaborated with fellow British company Standard Engineering to create two new grinding machines for use in orthopaedic workshops.

The machines, which will be exhibited at the OT World International Trade Show in Leipzig, will be released under the company’s orthotics and prosthetics (O&P) brand Aortha and are named in honour of the two leading O&P universities in the UK.

According to Algeos, Aortha Salford “combines super-efficient dust extraction with low noise, ease-of-use and maintenance and meets all Orthopaedic workshop requirements. It is suitable for podiatrists, orthotists and insole manufacturers.”

Aortha Strathclyde can be used in the manufacturing of footwear adaptions, orthopaedic footwear, leather and plastics. It incorporates the same features as the Aortha Salford but is designed with orthotists (prosthetists) and technicians in-mind.

Max Sheridan, global O&P director for Algeos, said: “We are delighted to have formed this strategic partnership with Standard. They have an outstanding heritage in the engineering of robust and reliable machinery.”

Algeos will also exhibit a range of other Aortha products in Leipzig including Orthaprint and Orthaflex, created using a 3D insole printing technology which can print a pair of insoles in less than 60 minutes.
