Spanish textile group names new president

Spanish textile industry association CIE has named Manuel Diaz de Marcos as its new president. He replaces Alejandro Laquidain, who leaves the role after four years.

Mr Diaz has considerable experience in the Spanish textile industry, having previously led the country’s cotton industry association (Aitpa) and textile industry body Texfor. He has also served as vice president of CIE.

The CIE executive committee also named Leon Grau as vice president and Marta Castells as secretary general, replacing Andres Borao who will now focus on his role at Texfor.
