Eduardo Zamácola, president of textile industry association ACOTEX, said the total number was around 138,700expects and he expects business to grow by 4% or 5% this year.
However, he added: "The political instability in Spain, together with the fluctuations on the stock market and the falling prices for petrol are creating growing concerns, meaning that we have to wait and see how this scenario will affect the industry."
During the first 11 months of 2015, Spain exported €12.6 billion worth of textile and apparel products, 9% more than in the same period the year before.
Ángel Asensio explains, president of the Spanish Federation of Clothing Production Companies (FEDECON), said: "A certain stability and signs of growth have been observed, both globally and within the country and sector, which are becoming more and more evident, but it is still necessary to strengthen them.
"Now jobs are not being lost and establishments are not being closed, but nor are they being created or opened, so now we should lay the foundations so that the sector grows on strong and safe pillars.”
