Bergans bringing eco-friendly products to Outdoor Retailer

Norwegian outdoor brand Bergans will show a range of its new environmentally-minded products for Summer 2017 at the upcoming Outdoor Retailer Summer Market exhibition in Salt Lake City (August 3-6).

The new products formed part of the company’s Expedition 2020 programme, which was launched in February. The programme aims to expand Bergans’ environmental standards by using more “environmentally friendly materials and chemicals”.

The summer 2017 line showcases products made using eco-friendly fabrics and production techniques. These include bluesign-approved materials, Responsible Down Standard (RDS) insulation and mulesing-free and recycled wools. Fabrics such as Ecodear, a plany-based polyester fabric, and Repreve, a fibre made from locally sourced recycled plastic bottles also feature.

"At Bergans, we care about how our actions affect the world around us. Our mantra, 'What we love, we will protect,' embodies the spirit of our sustainability program," said Byron McCann, marketing manager for Bergans USA.
