Smartwool president moves to Toms Shoes

VF Corporation has confirmed that Mark Satkiewicz, president and general manager of its Smartwool subsidiary, has left his post to join leisure footwear brand Toms Shoes.

Mr Satkiewicz, a prominent figure in the outdoor industry in the US, travelled to Salt Lake City at the start of August to represent Smartwool at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market exhibition but, according to reports, left before the end when news of his new role broke.

He joined Smartwool in 2007 as vice-president of sales, two years after the sock brand was acquired by Timberland, and became president in 2009. In 2011, Smartwool became part of VF as part of its acquisition of Timberland.
