Messe Frankfurt launches value merchandise show

It will be held twice a year in New York City in March and October. The first edition (March 21-23, 2017) will focus on menswear merchandise with the show to follow in October featuring menswear and womenswear together.
The show, launched with the help of fashion industry veterans Arnold and Bruce Zimberg, will give global retailers the opportunity to meet with brand-name apparel, accessory, and footwear companies in one location.
Messe Frankfurt says it created Boulevard Prêt-à-Sale to keep pace with changes within the retail industry, as increasing numbers of consumers shop for value priced merchandise. It believes that no trade show currently caters to the needs of consumers or manufacturers in this sector.
“Value retailers are the most important retailers of today, and of tomorrow, and they are not given the same exposure to fashion brands, or the opportunity to develop the same relationships with manufacturers and designers,” said Arnold Zimberg, who added that the new trade show would help manufacturers and retailers to connect.
“It is critical to stay ahead of the ever-changing retail environment, and to offer value to current and future buyers and manufacturers,” added Dennis Smith, president of Messe Frankfurt North America.
