New Patagonia video pushes fair trade

Outdoor brand Patagonia has released a new video to promote fair-trade clothing, featuring workers around the world such as a young woman from Sri Lanka, Madusha Priyanthi, who works in a supplier company’s factory in that country.

Patagonia has argued that consumers can help “change the garment industry” by choosing Fair Trade Certified clothes.

“When you choose Fair Trade Certified products,” it said on launching the video, “you are directly impacting the lives of the people who make your clothing. These are mothers and fathers and students—all looking to improve their lives and the lives of their families.”
