The facility in the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park (SCIP) contains a 215,000-tonne hexamethylene diamine (HMD) plant and a 150,000-tonne polymer plant, Invista said.
“Invista is proud to have built this new facility with its most advanced technologies and provide a local supply base to support our customers’ growing demand in China and Asia,” said Kevin Robles, Invista vice president of global operations, at the grand opening.
Invista’s nylon 6,6 can be used in a range of products, including apparel, industrial textiles, air bags and carpet. It retains its performance in high temperatures and has good chemical and abrasion resistance.
