Better Factories Cambodia programme extended

28/11/2016
The government of Cambodia has extended its partnership with the International Labour Organisation’s (ILO) Better Factories Cambodia (BFC) programme to improve working conditions and boost competitiveness in the country’s garment industry.

The agreement to extend the partnership to December 2019 was signed by Cambodia’s ministry of commerce, ministry of labour, and the Garment Manufacturers Association of Cambodia.

Cambodia will contribute approximately 25% of the BFC budget over the next three years, while there will also be contributions from garment buyers sourcing from the country who use the BFC’s factory assessment reports, and participating factories.
