Huntsman to retain Textile Effects business

Chemical group Huntsman Corp has decided exclude its Textile Effects business from the planned spin-off of its Pigments and Additives division. 

The company also announced that the spin-off will be called Venator Materials Corporation. Venator is the Latin word for hunter, chosen in honour of the Huntsman legacy.

"We are making significant progress toward the spin-off and are pleased with the Pigments and Additives business recovery,” said Peter Huntsman, president and CEO of Huntsman. 

“Improved titanium dioxide pricing combined with the identification of business improvement opportunities that are incremental to current earnings are expected to more than offset the free cash flow that Venator would have received from the Textile Effects business,” he explained.
